Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is a general term that describes any type of massage modality that helps relieve pain, reduce stress, and work on a specific problem.  Therapeutic massage treatments include deep tissue massage and myotherapy, increasing range of motion.  During this type of massage, clients are more involved during treatment and may be advised to wear flexible type sports wear.  Various techniques are used along with a treatment plan including at home strengthening and stretching exercises protocols.

Therapeutic Massage usually focuses on the following conditions:

 

  • Chronic pain

  • Lower back pain

  • Limited mobility

  • Recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury)

  • Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Postural problems

  • Muscle tension in the hamstrings, glutes, IT band, legs, quadriceps, rhomboids, upper back

  • Sciatica 

  • Piriformis syndrome

  • Tennis elbow

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Muscle tension or spasm

  • And more
